PRODUCTION DESCRIPTIONStainless steel wiped film evaporator/WFE is a kind of continuously type fully closed process equipment for evaporation concentration, desolvation, stripping, reaction, degassing and deodorization, which is widely used in pharmaceutical, domestic chemical, agrochemical, fine chemical, petrochemical, food industry and waste water processing industry. It is a new type of high efficiency evaporator which can be used for falling film evaporation under vacuum, and special designed for distillation separation and purification of heat-sensitive and high boiling point solution materials, also can be successfully applied to the evaporation and distillation of liquid materials which content solid particles, easy crystallization, polymerization and scaling. The corrosion resistance and cleanliness of the stainless steel cylinder is especially suitable for the corrosive medium in the above industries. Stainless steel wiped film evaporator is a three-section vertical type pressure vessel equipment. Its construction mainly includes a separation cylinder with a head, one or several jacketed evaporation cylinder, a bottom cylinder, a rotor assembly with PTFE wipers, a gearmotor support with bearing, a distribution plate, a fixed plate, motorgear device, mechanical seal, heating/cooling jacket,and temperature and pressure measurement device, and etc. |

WORKING PRINCIPLEWFE (Wiped Film Evaporator) is special designed for distillation separation and purification of heat-sensitive and high boiling point solution materials: 1/ The material enters into the feeding-trough of the distributing plate of WFE through the feed pipe, and the distributing plate driven by the rotor evenly distributes the material on the inner surface of the heating cylinder by centrifugal force. 2/ The specially designed movable wipers that installed on the rotor spreads the liquid into a uniform film on the inner surface of the heating cylinder, and it can self-clean the inner surface of the cylinder. 3/ The low boiling point components in the film material are continuously heated and evaporated, the evaporated vapors enter the separation cylinder upward through the channel on the distribution plate, and then pumped out and condensed by the vacuum condensation system from the vapor outlet. 4/ At the same time, the wipers will push the material downward until the evaporation residue is pushed to the bottom cylinder for collection. 5/The concentrated residual solution is discharged to the collecting tank through the bottom discharge valve or sent to WFE through the pumping system for secondary evaporation. | |
PRODUCT ADVANTAGES Little Drop of Vacuum Pressure - There is a certain static liquid surface pressure difference of vaporized gas of the material is sent to the external condenser from the heating surface. In general evaporators and distillation units, the pressure drop (Δ P) is usually high, sometimes even too high to accept. In WFE, the material appears in the form of film and the vaporized gas has a large space to pass through, there is almost no liquid level pressure difference. The pressure in the evaporator can be regarded as almost equal to the condenser, so the pressure drop is very small and the loss of vacuum degree is reduced. Low Evaporation Temperature - Because of the above characteristics, the evaporation process in WFE can be carried out at a high vacuum. With the increase of vacuum degree, the corresponding boiling point of the material also decreases. Therefore, the operation can be carried out at a lower temperature, which reduces the possibility of thermal decomposition of the material. Short Heating Time - Due to the unique structure of WFE, the wiper has the function of material pumping, which makes the material stay in the evaporator for a short time; in addition, due to the high-speed turbulence of the film, the material will not stay on the heated surface of evaporator. Therefore, it is especially suitable for evaporation of heat sensitive materials. High Evaporation Intensity - The decrease of the boiling point of the material increases the temperature difference with the hot medium; The function of the wiper reduces the thickness of the turbulent liquid film and reduces the thermal resistance. At the same time, the wall and scale formation of the material on the heating surface have been restrained to make the heat exchange turning good in this process.Therefore, the total heat transfer coefficient of WFE is improved. Flexible Operating - Because of the unique performance of WFE that it is suitable for handling materials with heat sensitivity, materials that required stable evaporation, high viscosity and rapidly increasing viscosity with the increase of concentration, and the evaporation process can also be stable. It can also be successfully applied to the evaporation and distillation of liquid materials content of solid particles, crystallization, polymerization and scaling. Configurability & Cleanliness - Pneumatic control feed/discharge valves, weighing system, CIP/MIP and SIP systems can be added to meet the requirements of GMP standard clean production and automatic control to reduce the cross contamination risk. |
ELECTION FACTORS OF WFEConfirm With Evaporation Area: 1/ Calculation of evaporation capacity - Calculate the evaporation capacity per unit time (Kg/h) according to the treatment capacity of feed liquid and the concentration of feed & discharge; 2/ Estimate the evaporation intensity of the evaporator according to the viscosity, concentration and evaporation temperature of the material; 3/ Calculate the required evaporation area with considering a certain mount of surplus. Confirm With Vacuum: 1/ The vacuum degree is obtained at the cost of energy consumption. It is not necessary to require too high vacuum degree by the evaporation requirements are met; 2/ Estimate the required vacuum degree at this evaporation temperature according to the heat sensitivity of the material; 3/ Confirm the required vacuum degree by considering the possibility of leakage and the on-way resistance. Confirm With Material & Type of Wiper: Choose the appropriate wiper type according to the the material viscosity, crystallization tendency, foam and other physical and chemical properties, and confirm the appropriate material of wiper by considering the evaporation temperature. Confirm With Heating Media: Select a suitable heat media such as steam or hot water or heat transfer oil according to the required evaporation temperature and heat consumption.
